The Reds are reportedly showing interest in KBO infielder Hye Seong Kim. Known for his exceptional defense, Kim earned a Gold Glove at second base last season.
Over his career in the KBO, Kim has posted a solid slash line of .304/.364/.403. In 2024, he excelled at the plate, hitting .326 with an impressive .841 OPS. He also showcased his speed with 30 stolen bases last season. The KBO represents the highest level of professional baseball in South Korea.
In addition to the Reds, the Mariners, Angels, Padres, and Blue Jays are also rumored to be pursuing Kim. While it’s unclear how serious the Reds’ interest is, adding Kim could be a fascinating move this offseason.
Kim is expected to make a decision by Friday, so more updates should be available later this week.
