The Colorado Buffaloes will need to rebuild their roster for 2025 with key players like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter entering the NFL draft. Head coach Deion Sanders is already actively pursuing top talent in the college football transfer portal.
Coach Prime is eyeing an Alabama playmaker to potentially pair with incoming star quarterback Julian “Ju Ju” Lewis. Colorado has also shown interest in Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter, who began his career at Tennessee in the SEC.
This weekend, Colorado will host Alabama freshman receiver Caleb Odom for a visit as he seeks a new team. Odom is a former teammate of Lewis from Carrollton High School.
Rivals.com’s Adam Friedman predicts that Colorado will ultimately secure the 6-foot-5, 227-pound receiver. Friedman noted that Odom didn’t have much opportunity to showcase his talent at Alabama in 2024 and is now exploring the transfer portal. The chance to reunite with Lewis should be an appealing factor for Odom. While other programs are also pursuing him, Colorado is expected to remain in the race.
Despite competition from other schools, including a prediction from On3.com that Ole Miss could land Odom, Colorado is still in the mix. Odom’s NIL value is estimated at $321,000. He had limited usage in Alabama’s deep receiving corps, totaling 7 receptions for 65 yards in 2024.
