SHOCKING MOVE JUST IN: Virginia Tech sign a Receiver from Transfer Portal flip commitment just now

A Virginia Tech wide receiver, Chance Fitzgerald, has entered the transfer portal.

The redshirt freshman announced he is exploring transfer options. Fitzgerald, a four-star recruit from Nolensville, Tennessee, was signed by the Hokies in the 2023 class, ranked as the No. 441 player nationally.

After redshirting in 2023 and appearing in one game, he played in 11 games during the 2024 season. Fitzgerald accumulated 22 snaps as a receiver and 53 on special teams.

With key receivers such as Da’Quan Felton, Ali Jennings, Jaylin Lane, and Stephen Gosnell leaving, Fitzgerald was expected to play a significant role in the future. However, Virginia Tech still has a strong group of receivers returning, including Ayden Greene, Tucker Holloway, Keylen Adams, and Chanz Wiggins, as well as incoming freshmen Snook Peterkin and Jayden Anderson.

Currently, the Hokies have 15 scholarship players in the transfer portal. For more updates on Virginia Tech’s roster changes, visit their roster management page.
