After falling short once again, this time in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s clear the Buffalo Bills still have work to do.
They are on the verge of winning a championship but seem to be missing a key piece or two. Strengthening the defense should be a top priority this offseason.
While the Bills’ defense performed well at times, it was inconsistent and left room for improvement.
With that in mind, Buffalo has been linked to a potential blockbuster trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jarrett Bailey of The Sporting News has proposed a trade scenario in which the Bills acquire Maxx Crosby.
Proposed Trade:
Buffalo Bills Receive: Maxx Crosby, 2025 Fourth-Round Pick
Las Vegas Raiders Receive: 2025 First-Round Pick, 2025 Fourth-Round Pick, 2025 Sixth-Round Pick, 2026 First-Round Pick
This would be a steep price for Buffalo, but with a championship within reach, an aggressive move could be justified. Trading draft capital for a game-changing star might be what pushes them over the top.
Crosby is exactly the type of elite pass rusher the Bills’ defense lacked this season. Despite missing five games, he posted 45 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and five passes defended in 2024. In 2023, he dominated with 90 tackles, 14.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and two passes defended across 17 games.
Beyond 2025, Crosby would remain under contract for the 2026 season, and at just 27 years old, he would be a long-term asset for Buffalo.
At this point, there are no concrete reports that the Bills are pursuing Crosby or that the Raiders are considering moving him. However, if Las Vegas makes him available, Buffalo should be ready to make a move.
