Highly regarded four-star linebacker Duyon Forkpa Jr. from the 2026 class has scheduled an official visit with his “hometown” Minnesota Gophers from May 30 to June 1 as part of their annual Summer Splash event.
Forkpa, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 225 pounds, will be playing his first season at Florida’s IMG Academy in 2025 after spending his high school career at Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Georgia. As a junior, he played both tight end and outside linebacker, but his size suggests he will likely transition to inside linebacker at the college level.
According to the latest 247Sports Composite rankings, Forkpa is the No. 355 overall prospect in the 2026 class, the 28th-ranked linebacker, and the 53rd-best player in Florida. He holds offers from 20 Division I programs, including Florida State, Clemson, and Michigan. So far, Florida State is the only other school he has scheduled an official visit with, set for the week after his Minnesota trip.
The Gophers have had success recruiting from IMG Academy in the past, landing players like Daniel Faalele, Curtis Dunlap Jr., and Zack Annexstad in the 2018 class. This year’s Summer Splash event is shaping up to be a major recruiting opportunity, with Forkpa among the top talents expected on campus.
