This offseason has been eventful for the Los Angeles Rams as they work to revamp their offense, including the significant decision to part ways with star wide receiver Cooper Kupp. It was Kupp himself who revealed that the team intends to trade him this offseason. With a cap hit of $29.78 million in 2025, moving on from Kupp could provide financial flexibility, and the hope is that Tutu Atwell can continue to develop and help fill the void.
The Rams also faced uncertainty at quarterback. Veteran Matthew Stafford was granted permission to explore trade options, and for a while, it appeared he might leave. However, both sides ultimately reached an agreement to restructure his contract, ensuring his return.
With Stafford staying, Atwell will continue to play with the only NFL quarterback he has ever had. While that may not have been the sole reason for his decision to remain with the team, such continuity can be valuable for players.
Los Angeles’ current roster will likely look different by the time Week 1 of the 2025 season arrives. In addition to free agency and potential trades, the Rams still have the 2025 NFL Draft to further strengthen their squad. For now, expectations are high for Atwell in the wide receiver group, while Puka Nacua is also poised to play a key role in the offense.
