Four-year veteran safety Jevon Holland has signed a new contract with the New York Giants after spending his entire career with the Miami Dolphins. A former second-round pick, Holland established himself as a key figure in Miami’s secondary.

Holland is coming off another solid season leading the Dolphins’ defense. In 2023, he started 15 games, recording four passes defended, one forced fumble, one sack, 62 tackles, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, and a 63.0 PFF grade—ranking 57th among 98 eligible safeties. Despite his contributions, Miami missed the playoffs, in part due to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion issues.
Selected by Miami in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oregon, Holland made an immediate impact as a rookie. In his first season, he played in 16 games (13 starts), finishing with two interceptions, three fumble recoveries, 2.5 sacks, 69 tackles, three tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, and an impressive 84.7 PFF grade, ranking fourth among 92 eligible safeties.
Holland’s performance dipped slightly in 2022 under new head coach Mike McDaniel, as he adjusted to a different defensive scheme. Despite starting all 17 games, his production declined, finishing with two interceptions, 1.5 sacks, 96 tackles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, and a 67.2 PFF grade (40th among 88 safeties). However, he rebounded in 2023 with an elite 90.4 PFF grade, ranking third in the league.
Over his four-year career, Holland has appeared in 60 games with 57 starts, compiling five interceptions, 25 passes defended, five forced fumbles, five sacks, 301 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 10 quarterback hits. Now with the Giants, the Oregon product looks to secure his first career playoff victory.
