JUST IN: Alica Schmidt drop a shocking comment on her fans controversy on the internet just now

German Olympic track star Alica Schmidt, often called the “world’s sexiest athlete,” announced her next career step in a recent Instagram post.

The 26-year-old, who competed for Germany in the mixed 4x400m relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics, revealed she’s shifting her focus to endurance racing. She’s now training for the individual 800m event while still planning to compete in the 400m.

“What a year it’s been ,” Schmidt wrote alongside a series of photos. “It was packed with unforgettable moments: from the World Relays in the Bahamas, where we secured Olympic qualification for the mixed relay, to the European Championships in Rome, where we qualified the women’s 4x400m team for Paris, to the German nationals, and of course the Olympics .”

“After Paris, I decided to try the 800m and 600m distances, and I loved pushing myself outside my comfort zone,” she continued. “Back in 2022, I had set my sights on tackling the 800m after Paris, so the time has come . I’m heading to my first high-altitude training camp to join an international 800m group, where I’ll train with top athletes and learn a lot. I’m really excited for this new challenge and everything it will bring ✨. (I’ll still be running the 400m but focusing more on endurance for now.) Let the journey begin .. xoxo.”

Schmidt also posted a video on her Instagram story showing herself at the airport, captioned “Off to the first training camp of the new season,” followed by a flight tracker image showing a plane en route to Johannesburg, South Africa, with the note, “Back in South Africa.”

Schmidt made her Olympic debut this summer, having previously been a reserve at the delayed Tokyo Olympics in 2021, where Germany finished seventh in the preliminary round and did not advance.
