Florida State’s low point in 2024 came when Florida stormed midfield, planted their flag, and sparked a brawl — finally drawing some fire out of a Seminoles squad that had otherwise looked lifeless all season. FSU limped to a 2-10 finish and is now aiming to regroup in 2025.
One transfer portal addition had vowed to help flip the script and restore pride to Tallahassee.
The problem? He’s already gone. After just one semester at FSU, that same player has re-entered the portal.
Florida Football: Who’s Asking the Questions Now?
Jordan Scott, a wide receiver from Southwest Mississippi Community College, transferred to FSU in the winter. After Florida’s George Gumbs infamously planted a flag at Doak Campbell Stadium — an act that pushed Mike Norvell into damage control mode — Scott fired off a tweet that read:
“Wait till next year. Promise you we coming for it all #NolesUp #ChangeTheNarrative”
Fast forward a few months: Scott is back in the portal. One semester and gone.
According to 247Sports, Scott won’t be part of FSU’s 2025 plans after all.
Florida is set to host Florida State on November 29, following an 8-5 season that included that lopsided 31-11 win and the infamous flag-planting moment.
The Gators are riding high on the hopes of a healthy DJ Lagway and a buzz-worthy spring game performance from freshman receiver Dallas Wilson, who turned heads nationwide.
Meanwhile, FSU did not hold a spring game due to ongoing renovations at Doak Campbell. Boston College transfer Thomas Castellanos is expected to lead the offense in 2025 — but one thing’s for sure: he won’t be throwing passes to Jordan Scott.
