Indiana University football added another piece to its 2026 recruiting class today with the commitment of Blake Smythe. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive tackle from Franklin Community High School in Franklin, Indiana, becomes the second in-state player to join the Hoosiers’ 2026 class.
Smythe chose IU over several other programs, including Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Kansas, Louisville, Ball State, Memphis, Miami (OH), and Toledo.
A three-star prospect, Smythe received an offer from Indiana in January and shared that becoming a Hoosier has been a dream of his since he first began playing football.
