Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a collaborative effort from The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we recap the five most important IU basketball developments from the past week, along with highlights from other Indiana University sports.
As IU continues its major program overhaul, new head coach Darian DeVries remains focused on assembling next season’s roster. This past week brought another key transfer addition and a new top assistant to his coaching staff.
Elsewhere, the Big Ten released its slate of opponents for the 2025-26 season, and several former Hoosiers remain active in the NBA playoffs. Banner #1 – North Florida forward Josh Harris transfers to IU
As Coach DeVries reshapes the roster, North Florida’s Josh Harris becomes the latest addition. The freshman forward averaged 13.4 points last season and brings three years of eligibility. He joins a growing list of incoming players including Conor Enright, Reed Bailey, Sam Alexis, and others, along with DeVries’ son Tucker and incoming freshman Trent Sisley.
With Harris on board, IU now has at least 11 scholarship players for 2025-26. Early projections are optimistic—Joe Lunardi pegs the Hoosiers as a No. 10 seed in his first 2026 bracket, and Bart Torvik ranks them 38th heading into the year.
Banner #2 – Tennessee assistant Rod Clark joins IU staff
Off the court, Indiana made a high-profile hire by reportedly adding Rod Clark from Tennessee’s staff. He joins Drew Adams, Kenny Johnson, and Nick Norton as assistant coaches. Clark helped lead a strong Tennessee program under Rick Barnes and brings valuable experience as IU looks to rebuild under DeVries.
Banner #3 – Big Ten announces 2025-26 matchups
The Big Ten released its opponent breakdown for the upcoming season. IU will have home-and-away series with Purdue, Michigan State, and Minnesota. Home-only games include Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Penn State, Washington, and Wisconsin. The road-only schedule will be tough, featuring Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, UCLA, and USC.
The women’s team, facing major roster turnover, will again play Purdue twice while flipping home/away matchups from last season.
Banner #4 – Hoosiers in the NBA
Four IU alumni remain in the NBA playoffs. OG Anunoby (Knicks) and Thomas Bryant (Pacers) have already advanced. Trayce Jackson-Davis (Warriors) faces a game seven against Houston. Kel’el Ware (Heat) saw his postseason end in a sweep by Cleveland.
