General manager Mike Borgonzi has made a strong impression in his first offseason with the Tennessee Titans, executing a clear rebuild plan through free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. His early efforts have reshaped the roster significantly.
Despite the progress, the Titans still have a ways to go before they can be considered true contenders. The team remains thin in several areas, with notable gaps that could be filled across multiple positions.
As Tennessee heads into minicamp and offseason workouts in preparation for training camp, several positions—cornerback, edge rusher, offensive tackle, and inside linebacker—stand out as needing additional depth. There’s still time to bring in free agents to shore up these spots.
Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus highlights linebacker as the most pressing concern for the Titans.
TENNESSEE TITANS: LINEBACKER
Last season’s top five linebackers—Kenneth Murray, Ernest Jones, Jerome Baker, Jack Gibbens, and Luke Gifford—are no longer with the team. In response, Tennessee signed Cody Barton from Denver, likely penciling him in as a starter. Otis Reese IV could start alongside him, though he played only 88 snaps last season.
While there are several young and unproven players in the mix—such as Cedric Gray, James Williams, and undrafted rookie David Gbenda—each comes with question marks heading into 2025. If training camp began today, the competition for snaps would be wide open.
With veteran linebackers still available and cap space to work with, the Titans could benefit from adding experienced help to support the development of their younger players and strengthen the defense for the season ahead.
