The Colorado Avalanche re-signed two of their restricted free agents on Friday, inking forwards Matt Stienburg and Jason Polin to one-year contracts for the 2025–26 season.
Stienburg, 24, appeared in eight games for the Avalanche early in the season while the team dealt with injuries. He averaged just over six minutes of ice time per game and didn’t register any points before being suspended and subsequently reassigned to the AHL for the rest of the year.
Polin, who turned 26 earlier this week, played only two games for Colorado this past season, logging an average of 5:11 per game without recording a point. He previously scored his first and only NHL goal during a seven-game stint in the 2023–24 season.
Both contracts are reported to be worth the league minimum of \$775,000.
The Avalanche still have several unsigned restricted free agents who suited up last season: Sam Malinski, John Ludvig, Trent Miner, Kevin Mandolese, and Jean-Luc Foudy.
