The Edmonton Oilers have secured forward with a long-term commitment.
On Friday, the team announced an eight-year contract extension worth \$30.8 million, carrying an average annual value of \$3.85 million.

Frederic joined the Oilers at this year’s NHL trade deadline in a three-team deal involving the Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils. In exchange, Edmonton sent a 2025 second-round pick, a 2026 fourth-round pick, defenseman Max Wanner, and forward Shane LaChance. LaChance was dealt to New Jersey, who agreed to retain 50% of Frederic’s salary as part of the arrangement.
At the time of the trade, Frederic was nursing an ankle injury and only suited up for one regular-season game before re-aggravating the issue. He returned for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, appearing in all 22 games and recording one goal and three assists.
