EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward to a new contract.
On Monday, June 30, the team announced it has re-signed the 26-year-old Canmore native to a one-year, two-way deal valued at $775,000.
Philp, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound centre, made his NHL debut in October during the 2024–25 season and recorded an assist in his first game. He appeared in 15 games for the Oilers, tallying two assists while averaging 9:05 of ice time per night.
He spent most of the season with the Bakersfield Condors, Edmonton’s AHL affiliate, where he posted 19 goals and 35 points across 55 games, finishing with a +11 rating.
Bernard-Docker to Test Free Agency
The Buffalo Sabres announced Monday they’ve issued qualifying offers to six players — but not to defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker.
The 25-year-old from Canmore, who joined the Sabres in a trade from the Ottawa Senators earlier this year, is now set to become an unrestricted free agent.
A 2018 first-round draft pick, Bernard-Docker had one goal and four points in 15 appearances with Buffalo.
