Sunderland continue to bolster all areas of the club in preparation for the 2025–26 Premier League season.
They’ve already confirmed the signing of 21-year-old midfielder Habib Diarra from RC Strasbourg and are reportedly close to landing Union Saint-Gilloise’s Noah Sadiki (20) and Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic (25). However, the club is still looking to strengthen further.
According to a recent report, manager Régis Le Bris and his staff have received another important addition.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Sunderland have appointed Luciano Vulcano as assistant coach. Vulcano brings experience from his time at AC Milan and Al Nassr, where he worked alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite receiving offers to take on head coaching roles elsewhere, he chose to join Sunderland.
Romano added that Le Bris had requested Vulcano’s appointment a year ago, and the club’s board has now fulfilled that wish.
It’s evident that Sunderland are investing across multiple departments to ensure they can compete at the top level. They also recently confirmed the hiring of Florent Ghisolfi as the new football director, an announcement made official on the club’s website.
