The 33-year-old most recently played for League Two outfit Gillingham.
He previously made 96 appearances for Portsmouth, netting 18 goals, and has also featured for Ipswich and Mansfield.
Speaking to Barnet’s website, he said:
“I believe I still have a lot to offer. The last two seasons have been quieter than I would’ve liked, so I’ve got something to prove.
“I’ve got another season or two in me to score goals and make a real impact for a team.
“This game is full of emotion, and sometimes having an experienced head in the dressing room can really help.”
