Liverpool have made a significant impact in the early stages of the summer transfer window, securing the high-profile arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez — all wrapped up before the end of June.
In the past five weeks, the Reds have been highly active, both in terms of signings and departures. However, their transfer dealings appear far from over. As the reigning Premier League champions, they are clearly intent on assembling a squad capable of defending their title, with more ins and outs at Anfield expected in the coming weeks.
Defender Jarell Quansah is the latest senior player to leave the club, and more exits could soon follow. One name in the spotlight is Luis Diaz, whose future at Liverpool remains uncertain amid growing interest from top European sides.
Bayern Munich Target Luis Diaz Amid Transfer Frustrations
After missing out on multiple targets this summer — including Jamie Gittens and Nico Williams — Bayern Munich have reportedly turned their attention to Luis Diaz. According to Bild, sporting director Max Eberl has made a firm approach to sign the Colombian winger.
Despite Bayern’s strong interest, Liverpool have rebuffed their advances, just as they did with a prior offer from Barcelona earlier in the window. The Merseyside club appear determined to keep Diaz, although that stance could shift if an extraordinary swap deal was put on the table.
Could Harry Kane Be Part of a Stunning Swap Deal?
Liverpool have long been linked with England captain Harry Kane, who is reportedly keen on returning to the Premier League to pursue Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record. Back in March, former Tottenham scout Mick Brown suggested Kane is determined to break the record and believes a move back to England is inevitable.
Now, Liverpool are rumored to be preparing a move for Kane — a proven goal machine with 213 Premier League goals and 62 more for Bayern Munich in just 63 matches. According to Brown, Liverpool would be serious contenders if Kane becomes available.
“Man United have been chasing him for a while, but they may struggle to afford him,” Brown told Football Insider. “Liverpool would be right at the front of the queue.”
Adding a clinical finisher like Kane could transform Liverpool’s attack. Meanwhile, Bayern are reportedly planning for a future without him, with Kicker revealing their interest in €100 million-rated VfB Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade.
A potential swap deal involving Kane and Diaz could benefit both clubs, provided each has proper replacements in place. While Diaz has been crucial for Liverpool, they still have attacking depth with Darwin Núñez and Cody Gakpo. In return, Kane could fill the central striker role Liverpool have long been looking to strengthen.
For Bayern, Diaz could help fill the void left by the likely exit of Leroy Sané. If they manage to land Woltemade, Bayern might be more open to letting Kane return to England.
