One of Missouri’s top recruiting targets is off the board, as four-star athlete Jayden McGregory has committed to Louisville, bypassing a potential future in Columbia. This marks a significant setback for the Tigers, who now face limited alternatives.
McGregory hails from Des Moines, Iowa, and starred at Valley High School. He’s ranked No. 400 nationally, No. 24 among athletes, and No. 4 in Iowa. At the college level, he is expected to play safety.
The Iowa product chose Louisville over Missouri and Minnesota, all of which hosted him on official visits. He briefly considered Kansas during the recruiting process as well.
This decision is a tough blow for head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff. McGregory had been closely linked to Missouri throughout his recruitment, making his commitment to Louisville—who had the final official visit—even more disheartening.
Now, Missouri turns its attention to three-star athlete Javonte Smith, projected to play cornerback in college. Beyond him, the Tigers’ recruiting board is quickly narrowing.
