BREAKING NEWS: Napoli Enter Race to Sign Chelsea Rock Solid Defender

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is reportedly a target for Napoli, according to The Telegraph. Despite playing a crucial role for the club, Chelsea has been looking to sell him for the past three seasons.

Chalobah was loaned to Crystal Palace earlier this season, but after returning, he helped Chelsea secure fourth place in the Premier League and win the Europa Conference League. Despite his strong performances, versatility, leadership growth, and willingness to serve as a backup, the club may still be open to selling him this summer.

Chalobah is solid both in the air and on the ground, and a move to Napoli could see him learn a great deal under manager Antonio Conte. While Napoli has yet to make an official offer, one could be on the horizon.

However, Chelsea should aim to keep Chalobah. Despite potential frustrations over the last few seasons, he has never voiced any complaints.

Compared to the injury-prone Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana, Chalobah is a more dependable option. Badiashile and Fofana, along with Axel Disasi, could be among those who leave this summer.

Chelsea showed improved defensive solidity last season after Enzo Maresca adjusted the defensive block. Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Chalobah were much more effective with less space to cover, with Chalobah especially impressing in a standout performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers, earning praise from teammate Noni Madueke.

With players like Renato Veiga and Mamadou Sarr waiting in the wings, Chelsea’s defense looks well-stocked for next season without needing additional reinforcements.

The best option would be for Chelsea to keep Chalobah, but with financial pressures and UEFA sanctions looming, they may be tempted to accept a bid for him.
