Josh Allen Receives Heartfelt Message From NFL After Historic Performance

The Buffalo Bills are excelling this season, with star quarterback Josh Allen emerging as the favorite to win NFL MVP. Despite Allen’s individual success, Buffalo’s ultimate goal remains securing a Super Bowl title—something the franchise has pursued for decades without success. Allen’s exceptional performances, including a record-breaking display against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night, have earned widespread recognition.

NFL Hall of Famer and Bills legend Jim Kelly celebrated Allen’s achievements in a heartfelt message, noting that Allen had surpassed his record for the most touchdowns in Bills history. Kelly acknowledged Allen’s leadership and the success he’s brought to Buffalo, writing, “CONGRATULATIONS 17! Five AFC East Championships and breaking my record for most touchdowns in BILLS history! You’re a leader on and off the field and one of the best to play the game, Josh! Stay focused and healthy and keep working. You and this team can do it! GO BILLS!!”

Allen and Kelly have developed a strong bond since Allen joined the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft. While Kelly led Buffalo to multiple Super Bowl appearances during his Hall of Fame career, he never secured a championship. Allen, however, is making history as he chases that elusive title.

In Sunday’s 35-10 victory, Allen surpassed Kelly’s long-standing record of 244 total touchdowns and became the first player in NFL history to record passing, rushing, and receiving touchdowns in the same game. With 245 career touchdowns—187 of them through the air—Allen continues to shine as one of the league’s top players. This season, he has already accounted for 26 touchdowns, while the Bills, sitting just behind the Chiefs for first place in the AFC, maintain strong Super Bowl aspirations after defeating Kansas City two weeks ago to claim the tiebreaker.
