Bradford City might have lost their last two league matches, but Graham Alexander’s side remain firmly in the promotion hunt.
The Bantams have picked up 10 wins from 15 league outings since the start of 2025 and currently sit three points ahead of fourth-placed Doncaster Rovers with nine games left to play.
A key factor in their strong form has been the team’s effective mix of experience and youth. Veteran campaigners like Richard Smallwood and Antoni Sarcevic have offered valuable leadership, while young talents such as Bobby Pointon and Jack Shepherd have added energy and flair.
Despite the team’s overall success, there are still a few individuals who Alexander will hope to see more from as the season draws to a close and preparations for next year begin.
To shed light on who those players might be, Football League World consulted their Bradford expert Fletcher Smith.
“There are a few players who came in with high expectations but haven’t really delivered,” Smith explained. “Tyreik Wright stands out. He’s had flashes of quality but lacks consistency. On his day, he’s excellent, but he’s lost a bit of momentum. If he can rediscover the form he showed during his initial loan spell, he’d be a major asset.”
Smith also pointed to Clarke Oduor as another underperformer. “He came in from Barnsley but hasn’t really settled. He’s not a regular starter, but the talent is definitely there. If he and Wright can both find another gear, they have the potential to be important players.”

Both players are under contract until 2026, but with promotion within reach, their places in the squad could be under review.
Wright has made 16 starts this season but has yet to recapture the form that led Bradford to sign him permanently. Oduor, meanwhile, has barely featured since Christmas and has only started seven league matches all season — casting doubt over his long-term role, especially if the club secures promotion.
That said, the final nine games present a vital chance for both players to shift the narrative. If they can step up and help power a promotion push, opinions around Valley Parade could quickly change.
