West Ham United are aiming to bolster their squad this summer following a disappointing 14th-place finish in the Premier League. Manager Graham Potter has already indicated that the club is gearing up for an active transfer window.
With pre-season preparations intensifying—especially after the recent £55 million sale of Mohammed Kudus to rivals Tottenham—West Ham are eager to move swiftly in the market.
They’ve been heavily linked with out-of-favour Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz and are now focusing on reinforcing their defence.
One of their key targets is 20-year-old left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf, who impressed last season by helping Slavia Prague cruise to the Czech league title. Diouf not only proved reliable at the back but also contributed offensively, scoring eight goals in 34 league matches. His performances earned him an international debut in September 2024, and he’s widely tipped to become a national team mainstay.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move is on the verge of completion, posting on X:
“El Hadji Malick Diouf to West Ham, here we go! Deal agreed to bring in the left back from Slavia Prague. Transfer fee will be €22m plus add-ons after #WHUFC improved their bid. Player has been authorized to travel for medical, as @Santi\_J\_FM reports.”
