The Colorado Buffaloes added to their Thanksgiving haul with another standout player. During Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco’s show, Nightcap, the Buffs secured four commitments on Thursday night, starting with a big splash from London Merritt.
Merritt, a standout from IMG Academy—widely regarded as the top high school football program in the country—was initially committed to Ohio State as a pass rusher following an exceptional junior season. However, after a second visit to Boulder during the Utah game, he flipped his commitment to Colorado this past week. At 6’3” and 250 pounds, Merritt brings a powerful presence as a high school defensive end, despite being slightly shorter than the prototypical size for the position.

His ability to maintain leverage and use his long arms effectively keeps him clean as he fires off the line. From there, his polished technique and quick-twitch athleticism allow him to create separation and disrupt the opposing offensive line. He’s a well-coached and highly skilled prospect sure to thrive under the tutelage of Warren Sapp.
