DONE DEAL: Bradford Lock In Star Man on Three-Year Pact – Club Sends Statement to the League

Bradford City boss Graham Alexander has signed a new contract, keeping him at the University of Bradford Stadium until summer 2028. Assistant manager Chris Lucketti has also extended his stay as the club prepares for its long-awaited return to League One.

Alexander, who took charge in November 2023, led the Bantams to a third-place finish in League Two—earning promotion in his first full season at the helm. His side missed the play-offs by a single point in 2024 but bounced back impressively with a promotion-clinching win on the final day last season, thanks to Antoni Sarcevic’s stoppage-time strike against Fleetwood Town.

“I’m delighted,” Alexander told the club’s website. “The results are one thing, but what we’ve achieved here as a club is so much bigger. It’s been a fantastic journey so far.”

In 91 matches as Bradford manager, Alexander has achieved a 49.5% win rate. His tenure has been marked by consistency and a revived home atmosphere, with the Bantams recording ten straight wins at Valley Parade.

The new contract reflects not just Alexander’s success on the pitch but also the culture shift he’s led behind the scenes. According to BBC Radio Leeds’ Jamie Raynor, the deal symbolizes the most stable era for the club in years—drawing comparisons to the Phil Parkinson era.

Raynor also noted the timing of the deal is crucial, coming just days before the new League One campaign kicks off. It puts speculation to rest and allows the club to focus entirely on the season ahead.

Alexander’s impact has already earned him a place in Bradford City’s modern history—but he’s far from done.

“Everyone wants to play in big games, in front of big crowds—and that’s what we’ve built here,” he said. “What we achieved last season was the result of hard work from day one. Now, it’s time to push forward again.”
