JUST IN: Bradford City sign deal to Liverpool attacker

Max Woltman, a 21-year-old forward who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, came through Liverpool’s youth academy.

He impressed across several age groups for the Reds and made his senior debut in a Champions League victory over AC Milan in December 2021.

A loan spell with Doncaster in 2022 failed to take off, and a permanent move to Oxford United also brought limited success. After two years at the Kassam Stadium, Woltman is now a free agent.

According to SportsBoom, Bradford City and League One rivals Stevenage are both considering a move for the attacker.

While Woltman’s first-team experience is limited, his age and free-agent status make him a low-risk signing. He could offer a fresh attacking option for Bradford and add depth in a key area.

Speaking to the Oxford Mail in September 2023, former Oxford boss Liam Manning said:
“Max has ability, there’s no doubt about that, and he’s a great lad. He’s ready for the challenge and that’s the most important thing. We’ve got depth and talent here, so it’s now about him rolling his sleeves up and delivering.”

New era at Bradford City
The Bantams have been busy this summer, bringing in nine new players following their promotion from League Two.

Several of the new arrivals featured in last week’s season opener, where Graham Alexander’s side defeated Wycombe Wanderers 2-1.

Antoni Sarcevic struck after just six minutes, before academy graduate Bobby Pointon doubled the lead. Wycombe’s Daniel Udoh pulled one back in the second half, but it proved only a consolation.
