Cremonese close to signing Leicester legend Jamie Vardy
Reports from multiple Italian outlets suggest that newly-promoted Serie A side Cremonese are on the verge of securing Jamie Vardy’s signature.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the 38-year-old has agreed to join La Cremo on a free transfer after his contract with Leicester City expired at the end of last season. Updates on Thursday indicate that only the final details remain, and Vardy could soon travel to Italy to complete the move.
Vardy, the 2016 Premier League winner, spent 13 seasons at Leicester, nine of them in the top flight, scoring 200 goals in 500 appearances across all competitions. He is among just 34 players to have scored 100 or more Premier League goals and currently ranks 14th on the league’s all-time top scorer list with 145 goals from 342 matches.
