College football transfer are set to intensify as more quarterbacks enter the portal in the coming weeks. According to Pete Nakos of On3.com, Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman could become one of the most prominent names in the portal, especially as programs prepare for a less competitive market compared to 2023. “Last year’s quarterback market was wild,” a source told Nakos. “Top names are asking for $1 million. It depends on your approach. Personally, I wouldn’t pay Conner Weigman that much. We’re more focused on spending around $500,000 and surrounding them with a strong supporting cast.”
Meanwhile, Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers is reportedly not expected to be among the high-profile transfers. Nakos reported on November 26 that sources confirmed Ewers currently has no plans to enter the portal. Instead, his likely path appears to be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Horns247’s Chip Brown. However, Athlon Sports’ Luke Easterling doesn’t project Ewers as a first-round pick in his latest mock draft.
