Bradford City have already called upon 21 different players in league action this season – nearly enough for two full teams. Manager Graham Alexander takes great pride in the fact that everyone has stepped up when needed, fully embracing the squad rotation system he promised to introduce during pre-season.
His side, currently second in the table, could move top if they beat leaders Cardiff City on Saturday. Alexander praised his players, saying they deserve huge credit for adapting to the rotation policy and contributing to the team’s strong results. He noted that every squad member has played a part in at least one victory, which has fostered togetherness, belief, and an unselfish attitude.
While Alexander accepts players may feel disappointed when left out, he stresses the importance of balancing personal ambition with the bigger picture. He believes this collective mindset is key to long-term success.
City have also been spreading the goals around. Last weekend’s 3-1 derby win over Huddersfield initially seemed to give academy graduate Bobby Pointon a hat-trick, but the EFL later awarded the third goal to Josh Neufville. Alexander said it was like “picking between your kids” but was pleased Neufville got the recognition he deserved.
On the injury front, defender Curtis Tilt faces a lengthy spell out after undergoing hamstring surgery following a collision in the recent defeat to Doncaster. Alexander described it as an unfortunate setback, especially after Tilt’s encouraging start to life at the club.
