Jack Grealish Finds His Spark Again at Everton
Jack Grealish has clearly rediscovered his joy for football since joining Everton on loan this summer, following a difficult spell at Manchester City where he had fallen out of favour.
The England international has quickly made his presence felt at Goodison Park, recording four assists in seven Premier League games and netting his first goal for the club with a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Crystal Palace. Before the move, Grealish admitted he had temporarily lost his love for the game — a feeling that seems firmly behind him now.
“To score my first goal for the club, and have it be the winner, was an incredible feeling,” Grealish said.
“The fans have been fantastic since I arrived. I’ve enjoyed every moment — from training to playing, to being part of the team. When you love what you do, everything just feels better.”
Grealish emphasized that football remains his true passion, and that the pressures of professional sport are far outweighed by the enjoyment he feels on the pitch.
Manager David Moyes has encouraged him to look for more scoring opportunities, and while Grealish is eager to add goals to his tally, he’s clear that his value to the team goes beyond statistics.
“I feel like I’ve contributed in many ways since coming here — creating chances, providing assists, and keeping possession in tricky situations,” he explained.
“Football isn’t just about goals and assists. There’s so much more to it, and I feel like I bring a lot to the team in different ways. Of course, I want to score more, but I’m proud of the impact I’ve had so far.”
