In Steinfeld’s newsletter, Beau Society, Allen opened up during a Q&A with her, revealing how nervous he felt despite meticulous planning.
“I was very nervous,” he confessed, adding that the challenge of keeping the proposal a surprise heightened his anxiety. “It was hard to keep secrets from you and have others in your life do the same. Then, multiple times throughout the day, a song would play, and I’d tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be.”
The emotional weight of the moment even brought Allen to tears several times, underscoring just how meaningful the day was to him.
