Niclas Fullkrug Considering January Exit from West Ham
West Ham United striker Niclas Fullkrug is weighing up options to leave the club during the January transfer window, according to Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger.
The German international is said to be keen on ending his spell at the London Stadium this winter, with West Ham unlikely to block his departure. The club is reportedly open to a range of outcomes — including a loan move or potential swap deal — as discussions over his future continue.
Fullkrug, who joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund less than 18 months ago, is believed to be eyeing a return to the Bundesliga. The 32-year-old has featured seven times this season but has missed the last three Premier League matches due to injury.
Aiming to revive his international career ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Fullkrug is ready to move in search of regular playing time. Since arriving in August 2024 on a four-year contract, he has made 27 appearances and scored three goals for the Hammers.
His debut campaign in England was disrupted by two long-term injuries, limiting him to just six league starts. Earning around £113,000 per week, Fullkrug has represented Germany only twice over the past year, most recently in the Nations League Finals in June.
Under new manager Nuno Espírito Santo, Fullkrug has made five Premier League starts this term. West Ham earned their first win in seven matches on Sunday, defeating Newcastle United 3-1 through goals from Lucas Paquetá, Tomáš Souček, and an own goal by Sven Botman — a result that lifted them to 18th place, three points from safety.
