Portsmouth confirm a star player contract agreement

Portsmouth Football Club has confirmed that captain and standout midfielder Marlon Pack has agreed to a new two-year contract, keeping him at Fratton Park until the summer of 2027.

The 34-year-old, who joined Pompey in 2019, has made over 250 appearances for the club and played a key role in their League One title-winning season last year. Pack’s leadership and reliability in midfield have been crucial as John Mousinho’s side currently sit third in the Championship after 15 matches.

Speaking on the club’s official website, head coach Mousinho said: “Marlon is the heartbeat of this team. His experience, work ethic, and ball skills are invaluable, especially as we aim for consecutive promotions. Locking down his future sends a strong message of our ambitions.”

Pack, who arrived on a free transfer from Cardiff City, added: “Portsmouth feels like home. The fans, staff, and my teammates make it special. I’m proud to continue leading the club and helping us reach even greater heights.”

The announcement comes amid rising optimism at Fratton Park, with the club also in advanced discussions to extend contracts for other key players.
