Bringing a broad depth of experience across playing, coaching and community development, Warriors also benefit from a compelling personal story that fuels his commitment to making rugby inclusive and accessible for everyone.
After stepping away from rugby at 17 to pursue semi-professional football, CJ rediscovered the sport at 24 — a defining moment that reignited his love for the game. Just two months later, he was competing in Scotland’s top division, before earning international honours with Nigeria and playing across the globe at tournaments in Dubai, Hong Kong, Kenya and Singapore.
His English club career saw him feature for Gravesend, Richmond, Chinnor, Blackheath and Moseley, before moving into refereeing and coaching. CJ has since guided Dudley Kingswinford to promotion and is currently part of the coaching setup at Bournville alongside former Worcester Warrior Alex Grove.
Now taking on his role with Worcester Warriors, CJ is eager to roll out a refreshed and ambitious community strategy across the region.
CJ Osazuwa said:
“Rugby gave me friendships, direction and life lessons that reach far beyond the pitch. I’ve experienced the game at many levels, in different countries and within very different communities, and that has shaped my outlook. Rugby is a game for everyone, regardless of background.
Worcester Warriors are entering an exciting phase that almost feels like a fresh start, and that presents a real chance to create something special with schools, clubs, families and supporters. I’m really looking forward to getting started and helping strengthen those relationships throughout the region.”

“As part of our long-term vision for rugby in this region, establishing the foundations of a men’s professional team was a key milestone. That process is now well underway and has received tremendous support. The next stage of our rugby strategy is about embedding Warriors within the community — working closely with local clubs, schools, volunteers and businesses at grassroots level, and exploring how rugby can help tackle some of society’s biggest challenges.
We will use Sixways and Warriors as a platform to engage as many people as possible, deliver meaningful community programmes and encourage more people to experience Warriors matchdays. We will also be announcing new packages for clubs’ Minis and Juniors sections in the near future.”
Rugby Camps Return in 2026
As part of this renewed focus on community engagement, Worcester Warriors are pleased to confirm the return of Worcester Warriors Rugby Camps in 2026, hosted at Malvern College.

Warriors v Hartpury: Community Day Announced
Tickets are now available for Worcester Warriors v Hartpury on 24 January 2026, with the club delighted to designate the fixture as Warriors Community Day.
Fans can expect a full matchday celebration of local rugby and community spirit, including:
- The EBC Fanzone featuring inflatables, face painting and family-friendly activities
- Food and drink from Freemans Event Partners around the stadium, alongside hot food from Brookes Catering in the Scrum Club
- Live stage entertainment in the EBC Fanzone before kick-off, at half-time and after full-time
- On-pitch half-time activities led by CJ, bringing together clubs, schools and the wider rugby family

Supporters are encouraged to show their local pride as part of the “Wear Your Badge” initiative at Warriors v Hartpury on 24 January. Fans can wear their school, club or college/university badge on a shirt, scarf, tie or accessory to unlock competitions and giveaways throughout the day.
