Now, could president of baseball operations Buster Posey aim for another blockbuster move by acquiring outfielder Kyle Tucker from the Houston Astros? Tucker has been a steady force over the past four seasons, hitting 30 home runs in both 2021 and 2022. In 2023, he belted 29 homers, led the league with 112 RBI, and earned his first Silver Slugger Award. Despite being limited to 78 games in 2024, the 27-year-old posted an impressive .993 OPS with 23 home runs and 49 RBI.
The Astros are reportedly open to trade discussions for Tucker, who is projected to make $16.7 million next season before hitting free agency. What kind of package would the Giants need to offer to land the star outfielder? Nick San Miguel of FanSided suggested a hypothetical trade:

“Wade has been mentioned as a possible trade chip for the Giants. He would provide the Astros with a dependable first baseman with strong on-base skills,” San Miguel wrote. “His power numbers might also see a boost in the more hitter-friendly Minute Maid Park compared to Oracle Park.”
Schmitt, who has experience at second base, shortstop, and third base, improved his OPS from .580 in 2023 to .760 in 2024. Meanwhile, Whisenhunt, ranked as the Giants’ third-best prospect by MLB.com, is expected to debut in the majors during the 2025 season.
