Eisbären Berlin lost further ground in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) title race after suffering a 1-5 (0-0, 0-3, 1-2) defeat against Löwen Frankfurt on Wednesday evening. The reigning German champions now trail league leaders ERC Ingolstadt by eight points, with Yannick Veilleux scoring their lone goal.

In front of 6,225 fans at the Frankfurt Ice Rink, Berlin started strong, applying pressure and controlling much of the opening period but failed to convert their chances.

The game shifted dramatically in the second period when the visitors lost their grip. Julian Napravnik put Frankfurt ahead just 55 seconds after the restart, followed by goals from Chris Wilkie (27th minute) and Daniel Wirt (29th minute) to extend the lead.

Despite recovering some momentum, Berlin struggled to find the net until Veilleux capitalized on a power play in the 52nd minute. However, Linus Fröberg (55th minute) and Dominik Bokk (57th minute) sealed a convincing victory for Frankfurt with late goals.
