The Bruins are heading on the road for a quick trip this Saturday, traveling to Detroit to face the Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena.
Interim head coach Joe Sacco will largely stick to the same lineup, with one notable change: forward Tyler Johnson returns to action after Georgii Merkulov was reassigned to AHL-Providence on Friday. This will be Johnson’s sixth game with Boston since signing, and he’ll join Charlie Coyle and Trent Frederic on the third line.
“I’m just trying to find some rhythm,” Johnson said in a team-provided video on Saturday. “It’s great to play with Freddy and Coyle again because we had some success last time. I’m looking forward to building on that.”
Jeremy Swayman will start in goal, while Marc McLaughlin will sit as a healthy scratch in his NHL return.
The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET, with an hour of pregame coverage on NESN.
