Clemson continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail.
Four-star safety Kaden Gebhardt, from Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio, has committed to the Tigers, choosing Clemson over Penn State.
Gebhardt received his offer in January following an unofficial visit and returned last weekend for the Elite Retreat before making his decision. He becomes the seventh player to commit since Friday.
“The coaching staff really stood out,” Gebhardt told TCI. “I already had a strong relationship with Coach Allen from his time at Penn State—he was actually the one who offered me there. I also really like Coach Conn, who first reached out to me and helped set up my visit. I made sure to get down there as soon as I could. And Coach Swinney—he’s an incredible coach and person. You can’t ask for much better.”
According to 247Sports, Gebhardt ranks as the No. 215 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 17 safety, and the eighth-ranked player in Ohio for the 2026 class.
Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 195 pounds, he holds more than 25 Division I offers, including ones from Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, and several Big Ten and SEC programs.
With Gebhardt’s commitment, Clemson now has 11 verbal pledges for its 2026 class, which is currently ranked in the national Top 5.
