There are many uncertainties surrounding the future of Alabama Crimson Tide football after the team failed to reach 10 wins in 2024 for the first time since 2007.
The 2024 season also marked Alabama’s first year without Nick Saban on the sidelines since 2006. Under new head coach Kalen DeBoer, the Tide had both impressive moments—such as a victory over Georgia—and disappointing ones, including losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.
As DeBoer enters his second season in Tuscaloosa, expectations remain high following a 9-4 record in 2024.
Elite Recruits Have Faith in DeBoer at Alabama
One of those believers is highly touted 2026 offensive lineman Hayden Ainsworth, who recently reclassified from the 2027 class. Ainsworth, who is being pursued by Alabama, Nebraska, Ole Miss, NC State, Georgia Tech, and Oklahoma, told On3 that he is confident Alabama will maintain its elite status under DeBoer and his staff.
“Bama is a team with elite status. Blue Blood. They are the definition of it,” Ainsworth said. “It’s a prestigious program and will continue to be under this coaching staff. This revitalization of their program is a blessing, and Coach Kap (offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic) is an elite coach. He’s recruited some big names, and the fact that he continues to build relationships with me and other recruits means the world. I value relationships, and right now, that’s something Alabama is excelling at.”
Now, DeBoer and his staff must prove Ainsworth right. Securing elite recruits is crucial for maintaining Alabama’s powerhouse status, and it’s clear that top prospects believe in DeBoer’s vision.
However, 2025 will be a pivotal season. If DeBoer fails to guide Alabama back to 10 or more wins, the pressure in Tuscaloosa will only intensify.
