Former Georgia quarterback Jaden Rashada, who previously withdrew from his National Letter of Intent with Florida and later played at Arizona State, is set to visit Western Kentucky, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Rashada, once a four-star recruit from Pittsburg, California (Class of 2023), entered the transfer portal this past January. Had he remained at Georgia, he would have competed with Gunner Stockton and freshman Ryan Puglisi for playing time in 2025.
Rashada did not appear in a game for the Bulldogs last season, and when Carson Beck was injured during the SEC Championship Game, it was Stockton who came off the bench first for offensive coordinator Mike Bobo. Georgia had initially envisioned Rashada as a “bridge” quarterback for 2025, learning under Beck before taking over as the starter.
“Jaden is a talented football player. We were familiar with him during his recruitment,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said when Rashada signed. “He has an impressive background and game experience, which is essential at quarterback. He’s very gifted, and we’re excited to have him and to work with him.”
Rashada has filed a federal lawsuit against Florida head coach Billy Napier, prominent booster Hugh Hathcock, and former staffer Marcus Castro-Walker, alleging a failed NIL agreement worth $13.85 million. The lawsuit is one of the most significant in the evolving NIL landscape, as Rashada became a symbol of the early turmoil and inflated promises that characterized the first wave of NIL deals following the collapse of his Florida agreement.
After leaving Florida, Rashada joined Arizona State and started as a true freshman, but injuries limited him to just three games. He passed for 485 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions during that stretch.
Following the 2024 spring practice, Rashada re-entered the transfer portal from Arizona State after Sam Leavitt secured the starting role. Under head coach Kenny Dillingham, Leavitt led the Sun Devils to a Big 12 title and College Football Playoff appearance, a remarkable turnaround from their 3-9 season in 2023.
