BREAKING: Indianapolis Colts head coach is making his return to the sideline by accepting a position in the NFL Ravens

A former Indianapolis Colts head coach is making his return to the NFL.

The Baltimore Ravens are bringing back Chuck Pagano as their senior secondary coach.

Pagano served as the Colts’ head coach from 2012 to 2017, compiling a 53-43 record and leading the team to three consecutive playoff appearances with 11-win seasons. However, his tenure ended after a 4-12 finish in 2017, marking the worst record of his time in Indianapolis.

Following his departure, Pagano became the Chicago Bears’ defensive coordinator in 2019, a role he held for two seasons before stepping away from coaching. Now, after four years out of the league, he returns to Baltimore—a place he’s familiar with. Pagano first joined the Ravens in 2008 as their secondary coach, later earning a promotion to defensive coordinator in 2011 under head coach John Harbaugh. Fourteen years later, the two reunite as Pagano returns to his roots in the Ravens’ secondary.

He will now work with standout players like Kyle Hamilton and Marlon Humphrey, along with the team’s 2024 first-round pick, Nate Wiggins. While his tenure in Indianapolis didn’t end as he had hoped, Pagano has maintained strong ties to the city. His annual Chuck Strong gala has raised millions for cancer research, and he’s a frequent guest on The Pat McAfee Show, which is often filmed in downtown Indianapolis. Over time, many Colts fans have come to appreciate his contributions both as a coach and as a person.

With that in mind, I believe most Colts fans will be happy to see Chuck back doing what he loves—coaching.
