Derek Zammit, a four-star quarterback from New Jersey in the 2026 class, announced his verbal commitment to Washington on Saturday. He chose the Huskies over offers from Alabama, Syracuse, and Mississippi State.

Alabama had extended an offer to Zammit back in February, but with his decision to go elsewhere, the Crimson Tide still does not have a quarterback committed for the 2026 cycle. After securing Keelon Russell in the 2025 class, Alabama now appears to be facing a tough challenge in landing a quarterback this time around.
