Alabama has been aggressively pursuing one of the premier talents in the 2026 recruiting class, running back Ezavier Crowell. Although the Crimson Tide has been riding some momentum recently, securing three commitments in the last three months, it looks like Kalen DeBoer and his staff will need to be patient as they await Crowell’s decision.
Crowell announced via social media this Wednesday that he plans to make his college commitment on December 31st of this year.

A native of Jackson, Alabama, the 5-foot-10, 210-pound running back is currently ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 2 running back nationally and the No. 3 overall prospect in the state.
Originally part of the 2027 class, Crowell reclassified earlier this year. In just two seasons with the Jackson Aggies, he has racked up more than 3,700 rushing yards and scored 56 touchdowns. He’s also proven to be a receiving threat, recording 20 catches for nearly 500 yards and six touchdowns.
Crowell is scheduled to be in Tuscaloosa for Alabama’s A-Day this weekend and has an official visit planned for June 20th. He’s already visited campus several times and even hosted a visit from Coach DeBoer at his school last summer.
Though there’s still a while before his commitment date, Crowell seems to have built a solid rapport with the Alabama coaching staff. The Tide currently has just one five-star pledge in the 2026 class—cornerback Jorden Edmonds—so adding a player like Crowell would be a major addition.
