Following an impressive junior season in which he earned First Team All-State honors in Alabama, wide receiver Corey Barber has attracted significant attention from college football programs. The unranked 2026 recruit from Spain Park High School in Birmingham has received 12 scholarship offers, including one from Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies.
“The coaches came down recently and stopped by,” Barber shared with Dawgman.com’s Scott Eklund. “They thought I’d be a great fit for their program. I work hard, I can get open, and I’m productive. They liked what they saw and said they want to bring me up for a visit soon, which we’re working on arranging now.”
Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 185 pounds, Barber was one of the state’s top performers last season, recording 73 receptions for 1,434 yards and 17 touchdowns. His production has earned him offers from schools like Arkansas, Oregon, and Washington, as well as several Group of 5 programs.
Barber’s recruiting momentum shows no signs of slowing, and he has a clear vision of what he seeks in a college program.
“A lot of schools have come through, and I’m hoping for more offers as they see what I can do,” he said. “I’m planning to check out what different programs offer and take visits this summer. Ideally, I’d like to make my decision before my senior season, but definitely before the end of it so I can sign in December.
“A great coaching staff is key for me,” Barber added. “Do they develop players and prepare them for the NFL? Do they care about and support their athletes? That’s really important to me.”
