A teenager who has shared the stage with A-list musicians is the focus of a new documentary.
Nandi Bushell, a talented drummer from Suffolk who lives in Ipswich, stars in an episode of My Life on CBBC, a series that profiles young people with remarkable stories.
Reflecting on the documentary, Nandi said, “Watching it back, I thought, ‘Wow, I really have had some amazing experiences.'”
Now 14, Nandi started drumming at just five years old and recently debuted her first single with her band. Having played alongside global icons like the Foo Fighters and Lenny Kravitz, she shared, “At the end of the day, I’m just an ordinary kid. I practise a lot and have been really fortunate.”
She continued, “My days are pretty normal — I go to school, hang out with friends, and practise — but my weekends are when I get to do some pretty incredible things.”
In addition to her music, Nandi is also pursuing acting, playing the role of Emerald in CBBC’s Andy and the Band.
With a huge following on social media, Nandi is currently focused on creating videos and producing a music video.
Her musical journey was highlighted in the My Life episode that aired on Friday.
Her father, Mr. Bushell, said, “When I saw the first edit, I couldn’t hold back tears. Seeing her story told in just 30 minutes was truly moving.”
Looking ahead, Nandi shared her excitement for the future: “I want to keep writing songs, perform more gigs with my band, and just see where life takes me.”
