On Saturday afternoon, the Montreal Canadiens announced the signing of prospect to a three-year entry-level contract, set to begin in the 2025-26 season and run through 2027-28.
The Austrian center had an outstanding year with the Zurich Lions in the Swiss National League, capturing both the Champions Hockey League title and the NL championship. He capped off the season by representing Austria at the IIHF World Championship, where he emerged as one of the team’s standout performers.
Rohrer is expected to attend the Canadiens’ development camp in July, giving the organization a closer look at his progress alongside other prospects, including several key contributors from the Laval Rocket’s run to the AHL conference finals. While he’s likely to start next season in Zurich, his showing at development camp could determine if he earns a spot at the Canadiens’ main training camp.
