The North Carolina Tar Heels are one of college basketball’s most historic programs, but the 2024-25 season didn’t add much to their legacy.
They managed to reach the NCAA Tournament by beating San Diego State in the First Four, but their run was short-lived as they were eliminated in the first round with a 71-64 loss to Ole Miss.
Junior guard Seth Trimble, a Wisconsin native, played 27 minutes off the bench in that defeat, contributing nine points, four rebounds, and a steal. He has since announced he’ll return to Chapel Hill for the 2025-26 season.
Trimble has steadily developed during his time with the Tar Heels. This past season, he posted averages of 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 assists per game, while raising his free throw percentage to an impressive 82.1%.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 195 pounds, Trimble is poised to take on a larger role next season with RJ Davis heading to the NBA and several teammates entering the transfer portal.
Known for his athleticism and defensive energy, Trimble’s return will provide much-needed stability in North Carolina’s backcourt and help keep the Tar Heels competitive.
