Aston Villa have tabled a new contract offer to Jacob Ramsey despite mounting Premier League interest, Birmingham World understands.
Unai Emery wants to extend Ramsey’s deal, with the 24-year-old now in the final two years of his contract. Even if the midfielder is sold, securing fresh terms is seen as vital to protect his market value.
After an injury-hit 2023/24, Ramsey enjoyed a steadier 2024/25, making 45 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing seven assists. While not always a starter, he showed signs of returning to top form.
Emery remains a big admirer and hopes the academy graduate can become a central figure, but a sale could still be considered to help Villa’s PSR standing. Nottingham Forest and West Ham have both been linked, though no official bids have been lodged. Forest may now focus on signing Manchester City’s James McAtee, while West Ham are yet to move for an alternative.
Since debuting in February 2019, Ramsey has tallied 17 goals and 19 assists in 167 appearances, with just a brief loan spell at Doncaster Rovers breaking up his Villa career.
Villa have also secured new deals for key players Boubacar Kamara — now signed until 2030 — and Lucas Digne, whose contract runs to 2028. Kamara received a pay rise to reflect his importance, while Digne accepted a reduced salary to stay despite outside interest.
