With the Reese’s Senior Bowl set for February 1st, let’s break down the players participating in the week-long event, position by position, and examine who might catch the eye of the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts carried over their 2023 offensive line into the 2024 season, expecting it to be a key strength. However, heavy reliance on inexperienced players at times affected their effectiveness.
As the season progressed, the line improved, especially with a healthier roster and a change at right guard, leading to an uptick in the run game. Still, there was a rough patch from Weeks 9–12, where Jonathan Taylor averaged just 2.9 yards per carry (excluding a 58-yard run against Buffalo).
In pass protection, Anthony Richardson faced significant pressure upon his return from injury in Week 11 through Week 16. Despite his ability to avoid sacks, the lack of protection was evident.
GM Chris Ballard noted the line’s improved performance by the season’s end and expressed optimism about the rookies. However, upgrading the “talent level” and “depth” along the trenches will be a key focus this offseason.
- Center Ryan Kelly is set to hit free agency, with the Colts likely turning to Tanor Bortolini as his replacement.
- Right guard Will Fries is also a free agent, and while turnover could benefit the team, re-signing Fries should be a priority.
- Depth along the interior line is another concern, as Danny Pinter and Mark Glowinski are free agents as well.
- Even the tackle position might need attention. With Braden Smith sidelined late in the season, Blake Freeland was the lone true backup tackle behind Bernhard Raimann and Matt Goncalves.

The Senior Bowl, held annually in Mobile, Alabama, is an invitation-only showcase of college football’s top prospects. Throughout the week, players compete in drills, practices, and ultimately, the American vs. National team game.
The event draws general managers, coaches, and scouts from across the league, offering not only on-field evaluations but also a chance for NFL teams to meet with potential draftees.
