Georgia Bulldogs running back Trevor Etienne caught many by surprise with his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. However, his strong performances in Senior Bowl practices have earned him plenty of praise.
Following one of the practices, Etienne explained why he opted to enter the draft rather than return to Georgia for his senior year.
“It was definitely a tough decision,” Etienne told Sudu Upadhyay of Fox 5 Sports. “A lot went into it, but I felt ready to compete at the next level, and this was the best choice for my future.”
In his lone season with the Bulldogs, Etienne rushed for 609 yards and nine touchdowns on 122 carries, including the game-winning score in overtime of the SEC Championship. The 5-foot-9, 205-pound running back previously spent two seasons with the Florida Gators before transferring to Georgia.
“I have no regrets at all,” Etienne said about his decision to leave UGA. “I’m blessed to be here at the Senior Bowl, competing with some of the best athletes in this draft class.”
Currently ranked as the No. 12 running back and No. 133 overall prospect in the draft, Etienne hopes to improve his stock with a strong showing in Mobile. His departure paves the way for rising sophomore Nate Frazier to take on a larger role in Georgia’s backfield next season.
When asked if he had a message for Georgia fans, Etienne simply smiled and said, “Go Dawgs!”
